In many parts of Maharashtra, streaks of bright light were seen late at night. According to an American scientist, the streak, which appeared like a Meteor shower, was part of a Chinese rocket re-entering Earth’s atmosphere. Various speculations were being made about this light.
The Chinese Chang Zheng 5B rocket re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere on Saturday. Not only this, it got burnt in the sky near Maharashtra itself. However, it did not cause any damage; it was launched in February 2021.

American astronomer Jonathan McDowell said that the re-entry of the 3B rocket body was expected today. McDowell tweeted that this is the re-entry of a Chinese rocket stage, the third stage of the Chang Zheng 3B serial number Y77, which was launched in February 2021, expected to re-enter in the next one hour.
There has been concern about the debris of this rocket falling on the Earth. The Long March 5 rocket family has been integral to China’s near-term space ambitions, from delivering modules and crew to its planned space station to launching exploratory probes to the Moon and even Mars.
