Abhinav Manohar Sadarangani Father’s Shoe Shop
Abhinav was born on 16 September 1994 in Bangalore. Childhood coach Irfan Sayat told about this player,
Abhinav’s father, Manohar Sadarangani and I are good friends. He had a shoe shop; I had a clothing store. Then one day, Abhinav’s father asked him to enrol him in the cricket academy. After which, this journey started.
Although Abhinav did not feel like cricket initially, he later started getting interested in it. After which, he was engrossed only in cricket practise after school. In the year 2006, Abhinav had also suffered a severe head injury, after which he also got a lot of stitches in his head. But even this thing could not stop his journey.
An innings struck team!
Irfan Sayat, who taught cricket in childhood to Abhinav Manohar, said that he played an unmatched inning in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Only then did he come in the eyes of the teams. After his matchless innings of 70 runs, many IPL teams contacted him and collected different information about him.
Debuted three months ago
Abhinav made his T20 debut on 16 November 2021 from the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he scored an unbeaten 70 and was the top scorer of the match. Abhinav Sadrangani is also known as Abhinav Manohar. Abhinav Sadarangani is one of those random names, who got a hefty bid of 2.60 crores in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, and his name was on everyone’s lips.
Abhinav had fixed his base price at 20 lakhs. There was a fierce fight between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals to buy Abhinav. But in the end, Gujarat got Abhinav in its court for 2.60 crores. Many franchisees were looking excited to buy this player.
Abhinav impressed all the franchises with his performance. The right-handed batsman scored 162 runs in four matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at an average of 54. His match-winning knock of 70 not out in the quarter-finals interested him in many franchises. Apart from being a batsman, Abhinav is also a leg-spinner.
Outstanding performance in domestic cricket
If we look at Sadarangani’s last innings, he can play a good inning in harsh conditions. He fits perfectly in the role of a middle-order batsman.
His quick innings of 46 runs in 37 balls against Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was highly praised. Earlier in 2015, he also played for Bijapur Bulls in Karnataka Premier League. Many new faces from domestic tournaments have significantly impacted the IPL. Dealing with pressure has not always been easy for every player in IPL. In such a situation, it has to be seen how Sadarangani takes the stress of this world-class league.
