IPL 2022: A big update regarding the Indian Premier League has come out. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved the Ahmedabad team amid controversies. The BCCI handed over the letter of intent to Ahmedabad on Monday, after which the way for the mega auction has also been cleared.
Ahmedabad Team for IPL 2022
This time two new teams are being added to the IPL, including Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Lucknow had no problem, but the CVC Group, which bought the Ahmedabad team, had links with the betting companies. After which, a committee was constituted by the BCCI, which has submitted its report.
The Ahmedabad team was bought by the CVC Group for Rs 5625 crore, while the RP-Sanjeev Goenka Group purchased the Lucknow team for Rs 7090 crore. Now that both the teams have got the letter of intent, they can soon submit the list of their three players.
Who will be the captain of the new team?
It is believed that Shreyas Iyer, who left Delhi Capitals, can command the Ahmedabad team. However, speculations are also being made to control Hardik Pandya, but nothing is confirmed yet. While former cricketer Ashish Nehra can be the head coach of the team. Guru Gary Kirsten, who won India the 2011 World Cup, can join Ahmedabad as a mentor.
If we talk about Lucknow except for Ahmedabad, Lucknow has already made Gautam Gambhir its mentor, while Andy Flower is the head coach. KL Rahul, who left the side of Punjab Kings, can become the captain of the Lucknow team.
