Indian sprinter Amit Khatri has won a medal in the Under-20 World Athletics Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. Amit has won a silver medal in the men’s 10,000m race walk. The Indian sprinter completed the race in 42 minutes 17.94 seconds. This is India’s second medal in this championship. Earlier, India won the bronze medal in the mixed relay 4x400m. Amit is the fifth Indian player to win a medal at the Under-20 World Athletics Championships.

Amit took the best time of this season in 40 minutes 40.97 seconds. Amit was leading in the race, but he stopped at the drink table for a while, and in the meantime, Heristone Vanyonyi of Kenya went ahead and then did not give any chance to the Indian player. He got a gold medal. Spain’s Paul McGrath managed to win the bronze medal with a timing of 42: 26.11 seconds.
