America’s Sofia Kenin showed off her first Grand Slam title of the year at the Australian Opener on Saturday. In the final, Sofia defeated Spain’s Garbine Muguruza to win the Australian Open title for the first time. The American star won the match 4-6 6-2 6-2 against Muguruza. Sophia, 21, is the youngest player to win the title since 2008.

In the first Grand Slam of the year, Sophia Kainin of America and Garbine Muguruza of Spain had come down with the intention of winning the title for the first time. Both these players made it to the finals of this prestigious tournament for the first time. Sofia Kenin made a great comeback after losing the first set and won the title by winning two consecutive sets.
Sofia got off to a slow start to the match and lost the first set 4-6 against Muguruza of Spain. After losing the first set, Sofia Kenin showed a brilliant game and won the second set 6-2. The American star appeared in a different color after winning a one-sided victory in this set. Sofia came out to play the third set after equalization, with confident shots.
Easy Win In The Third Set
After losing the first set, Sofia Kenin did not let Garbine Muguruza survive in the second set. After the set was equalized 1–1, the Spanish players were expected to give a tough fight in the third set but failed to do so. In the third set too, Sophia went on to win a unilateral 6–2 win in the second set. With this stunning victory, he won the Australian Open title for the first time.
