Suryakumar Yadav did not play the 5th and the last T20 match against the West Indies, due to which Pakistan captain Babar Azam had a big advantage. Babar Azam remains the No. 1 batsman in the latest ICC T20 rankings.
On the other hand, Suryakumar Kumar Yadav has missed out on becoming the number one batsman in the world, as he was rested from the 5th T20I against the Windies. Apart from Suryakumar, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are among those Indian batsmen who have made huge leaps in the ICC rankings.
Babar Azam Benefited From Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar is the number 2 batsman in the world. However, at number one, the points gap between Babar Azam and Suryakumar has also increased. The Indian batsman has suffered a loss of 11 points.
After playing the fourth T20 match against West Indies, Suryakumar had reached the second position with 816 rating points, and it was expected that he would soon overtake Babar Azam. Even though his place did not drop, now, after losing points, he has 805 points. Whereas Babar has 818 points, and there is a gap of 13 points between the two.
Suryakumar is the only Indian batsman in the top 10 T20 batters. Regarding his performance in the T20 series against West Indies, Suryakumar scored 24 runs in the first, 11 in the second, 76 in the third, and 24 in the fourth T20 match.
