The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken significant action in threatening Indian wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. On Wednesday, the BCCI banned sports journalist Boria Majumdar for two years.
On Wednesday, BCCI was informed by writing a letter to all the state associations and other clubs that Boria Majumdar has been banned from all cricket events in India. This means that Boria Majumdar will not be able to cover any domestic or international match to be held in India. Nor will he be able to be a part of any press conference.
According to the order of the BCCI, he will not be able to keep in touch with any player for the next two years. Nor will he have any relation with any cricket association or club associated with BCCI.

Wriddhiman Saha had made severe allegations.
Let us tell you that Wriddhiman Saha had shared some screenshots by tweeting some time back, in which he had alleged that he was misbehaving with a journalist. Also, Wriddhiman Saha was threatened. The BCCI strictly took these screenshots and allegations of Wriddhiman Saha.
The inquiry committee has taken the decision.
The committee constituted by the BCCI to investigate the matter included Rajiv Shukla, Arun Singh Dhumal, and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. All three have heard both sides and have given their verdict only after that.
The board formed a committee, after which Saha appeared before the committee and told the journalist’s name and explained the whole matter. Meanwhile, Boria Majumdar had also presented his explanation and denied all the allegations. However, things did not favour Boria Majumdar in the investigation, and now based on the committee’s decision, BCCI has banned Boria Majumdar.
What was in the screenshot?
Wriddhiman Saha wrote about this matter on Twitter on 19 February 2022, ‘After all my contributions to Indian cricket… this is what I have to face from a so-called respected journalist! Where has journalism gone? It was written in the shared screenshot; they would interview me. You tried to select 11 journalists, which in my opinion, is not right. Choose those who can help the most. You did not call. I will never interview you again, and I will always remember this thing.’
