Former Australia wicketkeeper Rod Marsh has been hospitalized after a severe heart attack. He is admitted to a hospital in Queensland, where he is being treated. Rod Marsh, 74, had gone to Bundaberg for an event of the Bulls Masters charity group.
Bulls Masters organizers John Glanville and David Hillier rushed him to the hospital after suffering a heart attack. Jimmy Maher of Bulls Masters told News Corp, “A lot of credit goes to John and Dave because the doctors told him he (Marsh) might not have survived if they had waited for an ambulance.”

He further said, ‘Rod Marsh had arrived at 10.05 am, and he called me from the car. He said that he was waiting to have a beer with me. Then immediately Dave got a call, and he told what happened. It was bad enough. Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley said: “We are deeply concerned to read about Rod and wish him the best of luck.
Our condolences are with him; his wife Ross and his family and friends are in a difficult situation at this time. Rod is the most famous and iconic face of the game, and we thank all those who are taking care of him.

The Australian Cricketers Association also stated Rod Marsh. It was said on his behalf, ‘Everyone associated with cricket is worried about him, and Rod Marsh suffered a severe heart attack this morning and is hospitalized. Rod is an influential figure in Australian cricket and has been associated with it for nearly 50 years. Many of his friends are present with him. Soon his family will be with him.
Rod Marsh played 96 Tests for Australia between 1970 and 1984 and took 355 wickets behind the wicket. He has also been the selector of Australia’s men’s cricket team. He left this post in 2016.
