Hardik Pandya: The former all-rounder of Team India and Mumbai Indians. The former is because Hardik plays as a specialist batter for a long time. He is not bowling due to his back problem. Having played more than 90 matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL, Hardik’s current salary in MI is 11 crores annually.
But it was not always like this. Till a few years ago, he could earn only ten lakhs a year. And talking about his same days, Hardik recently said during an interview that in the year 2016, some cricketers told him that he deserves 6-7 crores a year. Because he had made his India debut, and at the same time, he was also the only all-rounder at that time. Let us tell you that till the year 2016, Pandya used to get only ten lakhs a year.
Talking to Cricinfo on this issue, Hardik Pandya said
‘I was bought for ten lakhs. Next year, some cricketers, whom I do not want to name, came to me and said – Hardik, you deserve 6-7 crores. Because I had played India and I was also the only all-rounder at that time.
Hardik Pandya further said in the conversation that he had no problem with the salary of 10 lakhs because his brother Krunal was earning two crores a year at that time. And at the same time, Hardik was also earning two crores of the year due to playing India and his advertisements. Hardik said,
‘I was like this is fine too. My brother is earning two crores. I joined Mumbai for ten lakhs but earned two crores due to my brand endorsements and playing India. So we were stable’.
During this conversation, Hardik Pandya also said that now, when he is earning 11 crores, and his brother Krunal is earning nine crores, his feet are still on the ground, and there is nothing to be too excited about it. Hardik said that he was happy. They said,
“When I got 11 crores, and Krunal got nine crores, i.e. we got 20 crores in total, we were largely neutral and grounded. It didn’t excite us too much. We were happy, but it didn’t change a lot of things. We were still the same as before, but with money came stability”.
Let us tell you that the current salary of Hardik and Krunal was done in the year 2018 when Mumbai retained them. Both brothers have been a part of Mumbai for a long time. But now, it is being said that Mumbai might release them before the mega auction of IPL 2022.
