A film will be made on Lalit Modi, the founder of the Indian Premier League, i.e. IPL. This film will be produced by producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri, who has made films like ’83’ and ‘Thalaivi’. This film will be based on Maverick Commissioner’s book: The IPL – Lalit Modi Saga, written by Lalit Modi.
Senior Journalist Boria Majumdar has written this book. The announcement of making a film on Lalit Modi has been made on completion of 15 years of IPL. IPL was started on this day, i.e. on 18th April 2008. The first match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
It will be shown in the film how IPL started. Along with this, the life of Lalit Modi will also be shown. Lalit Modi has been a successful and controversial cricket administrator. Many new experiments were seen in Indian cricket during his tenure. But during this, a lot of controversies also took place. Many people accused Lalit Modi of being rude and arrogant. Along with this, allegations of abuse of position were also levelled against him.

IPL came out of Lalit Modi’s mind
IPL is considered to be the brainchild of Lalit Modi. Considering T20 cricket as the future, he had prepared the blueprint for starting a T20 league based on a city-based franchise. Although before this, such T20 league Indian Cricket League was running in India, it was not of BCCI. Also, it was not franchise based. Lalit Modi designed the IPL on the English Football League Premier League lines. Where players would have auctioned, and the player who spent more money would be his.

Lalit Modi currently lives outside India in London. He is accused of money laundering and financial irregularities in BCCI. He has also been banned from BCCI. Lalit Modi is the first chairman of IPL, and for nearly three years, he held the post of IPL commissioner. He also served as the chairman of the Champions League T20. Lalit Modi was the Vice President of BCCI for almost five years. He also held the post of President of the Rajasthan Cricket Association.
