Hyderabad India’s star shuttler PV Sindhu created history last year when she became the first Indian player to become World Badminton Champion. Sindhu can now remain the World Champion for three years without playing. The BWF World Championship is held every year except the Olympic year.

PV Sindhu won the World Badminton Championship title for the first time to India in 2019. The World Badminton Championship is not going to held in 2020 due to the Tokyo Olympics. The Tokyo Olympics Games have pushed forward for a year now due to the coronavirus. Because of this, these games will be held in July-August 2021. Due to this, the World Badminton Championship will hardly stay in the next year (2021). Due to these circumstances, PV Sindhu will be able to remain the World Champion for three years.
PV Sindhu does not mind that she will remain the world champion for three years, her eagerness as to when the badminton tournaments will start. Sindhu was in the Quarantine after returning from the All England Badminton Championships. She returned on March 15 and her quarantine period was coming to an end on March 28. Still, the authorities had asked her to extend the quarantine period to April 5 given her travel history.
This period of Indus ended on Sunday. These are the first time in a decade that PV Sindhu has been away from badminton court for more than three weeks. In 2015, she did not play for five months due to injury but regularly visited the courts. For the first time, she has not been on the court for more than three weeks.
