On Thursday, India’s leading badminton player and two-time Olympic medalist, PV Sindhu, was out of the German Open. Sindhu was defeated by China’s Zhang Yi Mann in the women’s singles second-round match. This match was fascinating and lasted for three games. Zhang defeated Sindhu 21-14, 15-21, 21-14. Sindhu’s defeat is surprising as Zhang is a lower-ranked player than her. The Chinese player defeated Sindhu in a match that lasted 55 minutes.
PV Sindhu Lost In German Open
It’s a disappointing start to the European stage for PV Sindhu. She will come as a strong contender for victory in the All England Championship starting next week. Sindhu will try to win the title of this prestigious tournament. Sindhu had defeated Busanan Ongbamrangphan of Thailand in the first round match.
Zhang created pressure
PV Sindhu didn’t get off to a good start. Zhang initially levelled the score at 5-5 and then took an 11-5 lead till the break. After the break, he maintained his lead and easily won the first game. However, Sindhu made a strong comeback in the second game and won. Although the competition between the two was very tough, Sindhu managed to take an 11-10 lead till the break. After the break, Sindhu slowly moved towards victory and won the second game and took the match to the third game.
Zhang showed his strength in the third game.
Although the Chinese player did not lose courage even after losing the second game, showing a solid match, she made the score 11-8 till the break and went into the break with a lead of three points. After the break, he did not give many chances to PV Sindhu and won the match easily, winning the game. In the next round, Zhang will face the winner of the match between Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei and Sayaka Takashi of Japan.
