Rishabh Pant Ricky Ponting India vs South Africa: India had to face defeat in the first match of the T20 series played against South Africa. In this match played in Delhi, South Africa won by seven wickets. It was an important match for Rishabh Pant. He made his debut as a captain in International T20 matches. After this match, former Australian player Ricky Ponting praised Pant fiercely.
Ponting has said that Rishabh Pant should be an integral part of India’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign in Australia later this year. He told the wicketkeeper-batsman would prove to be “extraordinarily dangerous for India” as there are flat and bouncy pitches.
“He (Pant) is an amazing player. He will prove to be exceptionally dangerous for India,” he added.
After seeing Rishabh Pant progress at Delhi Capitals, the Australian legend felt Pant should be used as a ‘floater’ during the T20 World Cup in October-November.
Ponting felt that considering the ‘dynamic’ and ‘explosive’ cricketer, Pant would like to use Pant in a distinctive role as a left-handed batsman.
Significantly, India scored 211 runs while batting first. During this, Ishan Kishan played brilliant innings of 76 runs. Ishaan faced 48 balls and hit 11 fours and three sixes. In reply, South Africa won the match in 19.1 overs. David Miller played an unbeaten inning of 64 runs for the African team. Miller faced 31 balls and hit five sixes and four fours.
