Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Pair Made A Big Record in T20 World Cup

Shakib Al Hasan: Currently one of the top all-rounders in the world. Shakib is number one in ODI rankings and number two in T20Is. However, in the recently concluded IPL2021, he was not able to do very well in limited opportunities for KKR. But he has continued his good performance in the T20 World Cup 2021 which started after this.

Shakib, who failed to win his team in the match against Scotland, took it out against Oman. He left no stone unturned to beat Oman not only with the bat but also with the ball. Earlier Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first.

Shakib Al Hasan T20 World Cup Record

But initially this decision proved to be wrong. When openers Liton Das and Mehdi Hassan were dealt cheaply. Liton for just 11 runs and Mehdi got out on a total of 21. But after this Shakib, who came at number four, took over Bangladesh with the second opener Mohammad Naeem. Both of them shared an 80-run partnership for the third wicket.

And on the total of 101, Shakib was dismissed after scoring 42 runs in 29 balls. Shakib hit six fours in his innings. Shortly after this, Naeem was also dismissed after scoring 64 runs. In the end Bangladesh team was all out after scoring 153 runs in 20 overs. In reply, Oman also lost the wicket of Aaqib Ilyas on the total of 13. He was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman.

After this Jatinder Singh and Kashyap Prajapati tried to take over Oman. But Mustafizur, who was looking in excellent rhythm, quickly made Kashyap his second victim. After this, Oman continued to lose wickets and the team could only manage 127 runs in 20 overs in the end. Shakib took three wickets for Bangladesh and Mustafizur took four wickets.

And with these wickets, both of them made many records. Now Shakib has 35 wickets in the Men’s T20 World Cup. Now he has come at number five in the list of bowlers who took the most wickets in this tournament. Here with him are Shahid Afridi, Lasith Malinga, Saeed Ajmal, Ajanta Mendis and Umar Gul.

Mustafizur, who took four wickets in the same match, has now become the first bowler to take more than one wicket in five consecutive innings of the Men’s T20 World Cup. He had earlier taken two wickets against Scotland, five against New Zealand, and two wickets each against India and Australia.

With these different records, both of them also made a record where these are the only two. In fact, Mustafizur has now joined Shakib in the list of left arm bowlers who took the most four wickets in the T20 World Cup. Both these bowlers have done this feat twice.
