After beating Afghanistan, Rohit told where Team India was missing earlier!

India has won its first match in the T20 World Cup. Team India beat Afghanistan by 66 runs. In this match, India had batted first after losing the toss. Rohit Sharma scored 74, and KL Rahul scored 69 runs for the team. Rishabh Pant, who came on the field after the dismissal of these two openers, contributed 27 and Hardik Pandya also contributed 35 runs. Rohit Sharma was given the Man of the Match award for his brilliant batting in the match.

After winning the award, Rohit Sharma admitted that he did not get what he wanted in the last two matches in the post-match. They said,

“We wanted to start well, which didn’t happen in the first two matches. We tried to create a good platform so that other batsmen can come and express themselves. KL Rahul also batted brilliantly”.

Talking about Afghanistan, Rohit said

Looking at the trend, he batted first in every match. So we were thinking of fielding first. But this pitch was good for batting. A good start and a respectable score were essential from our side. We knew that run rate could come into play, and so we wanted to win by a good margin, glad we were able to do that.

Whatever is needed in the team, I will try to do that. Needed an early start today. Usually, I try to judge initially, but today I had to play a little differently.

Rohit Sharma also spoke to the media after the match. Talking about the tournament, he said,

‘Yes, to be honest, it was that kind of situation for us. We know that if we lose a game from here, we are out of the tournament. So we have to win everything. And when you are in that kind of situation, you have to play fearlessly. Don’t overthink about what is happening”.

Rohit Sharma Gives Credit to Team India’s Approach

Talking on attacking cricket against Afghanistan, Rohit said,

“I think the approach of all the players against Afghanistan was different. I wish it would have happened in the first two matches too, but it didn’t happen. But it can happen that when you are on the road for a long time, decision making can sometimes be a problem, and that is exactly what happened in the first two games”.

In the end, while praising the team, Rohit said,

‘We are a good team. It’s just that we were not good against Pakistan and New Zealand on that particular day. But yes, the game that we showed today shows that we are such a team to a large extent. And when we play fearlessly, that’s what we get”.

Let us tell you that India has won this victory in its third match. Now the team has two more matches left. In which the team will face Scotland on 5 November and Namibia on 8 November.
