Airtel VoWiFi Calling Service Launched in India, Now Make Free Calls

Creating a revolution in the telecom sector, Bharti Airtel has officially introduced its VoWi-Fi or Voice over Wi-Fi service in the Delhi NCR circle. A few months ago the report came out which said that BSNL and Jio are testing this service. At the same time, now Airtel has taken this step a step further and launched this service in a circle and soon it will be introduced for the rest of the users. The company has named Airtel Wi-Fi calling Airtel VoWiFi service. Currently, this service has introduced for 24 handsets of four smartphone companies, including Apple, OnePlus, Samsung and Xiaomi.

Support of Airtel VoWiFi calling service on iOS 13 – iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, Apart from the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone 11 Pro, Samsung smartphones include the Galaxy J6, Galaxy On6, Galaxy M30s, and Galaxy A10s; Xiaomi’s Poco F1, Redmi K20, and Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro have been received. To use the Airtel VoWiFi feature, you must first go to the Call Settings menu of your handset and turn on this feature. You can see this in the Wi-Fi Calling settings. This service can activate even if the device does not have a network. Airtel key requires an active Wi-Fi network. It works like FaceTime, WhatsApp, and Messenger calling.

The VoWi-Fi means Voice over Wi-Fi. Currently, VoLTE i.e. Voice over LTE service is available in India. In VoLTE service, voice calls are made through the Internet in the SIM network. Also, even in the event of a call, the internet speed in the phone does not decrease. Similarly, for making voice calls in Airtel VoWiFi, the SIM network and its Internet not required. That is, a call can be made through a Wi-Fi network even if the phone does not have a signal. Through this technology, voice service is delivered over a Wi-Fi network via IP.
