If you also have an iPhone and wonder how secure it is with Android, then here we will tell you about a fact. This question often comes to everyone’s mind which phone is more secure, Android or iPhone. However, many experts believe that iPhones that come with iOS are more secure than Android phones.
But, in a recent study, a necessary disclosure has been made about the security of the iPhone. Actually, according to a report by the Technical University of Darmstadt, it has come to the fore that the iPhone can be hacked at times. University researchers have released a study regarding the security of the iPhone. From which it has been told that when the iPhone is switched off, it can be hacked.
The study has told that the main reason for the hacking of the iPhone is how it manages different wireless networking technologies. Even after the iPhone is turned off, the wireless chips, such as Bluetooth, NFC and services like UWB (Ultra Wide Band), remain active for 24 hours.
It is not believed that there is any problem or glitch in the iPhone. The company has given the Find My Device feature in the phone for a long time, working on many different networks and sensors. With the help of this feature, iPhone users can easily find their lost phone. This is a beneficial feature. And most iPhone users keep it active and also use it. But, many of these features can also be misused. Hackers can easily hack the iPhone through this feature because these wireless chips present in the phone have direct access to the security elements.
According to the study, the wireless chips in the phone have low power mode (LPM) active, which works at the supported hardware level and cannot be fixed only through OTA software update. Researchers who did a security analysis of the LPM features provided in iOS 15 found that the Bluetooth LPM firmware can be modified to run malware on the iPhone. Through which hackers can easily track the location of the iPhone.
There is nothing to worry about, as the study also pointed out that the Bluetooth LPM firmware modification mainly targets jailbroken iPhones to relieve users.
