OnePlus 7T Review – Best OnePlus Device Under 40,000?

OnePlus has launched 7-variant in India as per its pattern. The launch of OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro has not been much time, but with the upgrade OnePlus 7T of OnePlus 7, the company has introduced a flagship-grade smartphone which has been priced slightly lower with some features of Pro Variant. Oneplus 7T Review

The New OnePlus 7T can be seen as completing the gap between OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in away. OnePlus has introduced OnePlus 7 Pro’s high-end features like fluid-display, camera setup at low prices in the market in its latest T variant, which has always been the company’s biggest feature.

In the phone, you get a little new design, new camera design, 90Hz AMOLED screen, chipset upgrade, and additional sensor. This company has also given you the charger in T-model with T-upgrade.

So does all this change prove the smartphone to be the best OnePlus device yet? Let’s know the answer to this question in a detailed review of OnePlus 7T:

OnePlus 7T Review: Box Content

You see a lot of change when you look at the box of OnePlus 7T. The box size is very similar to the recently introduced Oppo Reno 2 box. Apart from the new size box, OnePlus has given it in red color with some text which you can see in the image.

OnePlus 7T Unboxing

In the box you get:

  • OnePlus 7T handset
  • Warp charger 30T
  • Charging cable
  • Sim tray
  • User guide
  • TPU case
  • Never Settle Sticker

OnePlus 7T Review: Design and Build Quality

Whenever you buy a new smartphone, its design and build quality matters a lot.

OnePlus, as always, has presented you with a simple but stylish design while remaining separate from other Chinese smartphone companies. The OnePlus 7T has also been introduced with a slightly new design while retaining a better design than the marble-glass finish introduced in OnePlus 6 from the sand-stone back found in OnePlus 1.

OnePlus 7T Price

OnePlus has used the V-shape notch here apart from the full-display trend, with which you also do not get a curved display. But according to the company the size of the notch is small by 31.46% which is a good thing. If compared, it is lighter, thinner and comfortable to use than OnePlus 7 Pro.

Only when you hold the device in hand, you start liking its design. We have a 7T Glacier Blue Variant with a frosted finish on the glass. The display size has also been increased slightly, above which you see the same earpiece as the OnePlus 7.

Design

The protection of Gorilla Glass has been given on both the phone’s display and the back panel, but the version has not been cleaned. With this, the SIM tray has been placed downwards this time, while the alert slider has been given on the right side.

OnePlus 7T Price in India

If you look at the smartphone from the backside, you will remember the Nokia Lumia 1020 launched many years ago, because here too you have been given the same circular camera module. If the camera is quite lifted, then the case given in the box must be used, but if you use the phone without the case, then the possibility of scratching the camera becomes very high.

Overall, the OnePlus 7T has given you an attractive design that seems to lean heavily towards OnePlus and not the 7 Pro. This is also a good thing because the OnePlus 7 Pro design is not as special and as OnePlus 7T now looks.

OnePlus 7T review: display and biometric

Talking about the display, the display of OnePlus 7T takes it closest to the 7 Pro. The 7T features an FHD + resolution fluid AMOLED screen with a very thin bezel.

OnePlus 7 Pro’s most attractive feature is the 90Hz Fluid AMOLED display used in the 7T. If you use a 60Hz regular screen, you will find the 90Hz refresh rate very good because the animation and transition here are quite smooth. You will not feel any big difference while using it, but when you use the 60Hz display back then you will miss it a lot.

OnePlus 7T Review: Performance and Software

As always, OnePlus has used Qualcomm’s latest chipset here too. In OnePlus 7T you have been using Snapdragon 855+ chipset which is a good upgrade but in performance, you will also know its effect on the long usage of the device.

Like the Snapdragon 855, it also has a tri-cluster structure with high-performance Kryo 485 CPU Gold Core 2.96Ghz clock speed, while the rest of the core works like the Snapdragon 855. The Adreno 640 GPU in the chipset operates at frequencies from 585MHz to 672MHz. With this, you also get an improvement of 15% in performance.

OnePlus 7T has been introduced in the market with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 3.0 storage options. In ROG Phone 2, you get the same RAM storage combination at the same price but it gets a slightly faster UFS 3.0 storage.

OnePlus 7T

We had no problem playing high-end games like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile. We also played the game setting graphics to HDR and frame rate to the extreme but there is no slackness or frame drop in gaming.

OnePlus 7T Performance

The device’s software is also very important for good performance, in which OnePlus’s Oxygen OS proves to be very good with its smooth transition. Oxygen OS is our favorite software among the custom skin available in the market. OnePlus 7T is the first smartphone introduced in the market with Android 10. OnePlus has given you a software experience with the same stock feel, without overstating things.

In Oxygen OS, you also have features like Android 10 Gesture, Dark Mode, New Gallery App, Improve Zen Mode, Screen Recorder.

OnePlus 7T Camera Review

For OnePlus 7T for photography, you get to see the same camera setup as the 7 Pro. At the rear, you are given a triple camera setup and a single front sensor in front. The triple optics setup features a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide camera, while the 16-megapixel sensor on the front comes under the notch.

Now let’s talk about the new camera UI, both the regular and 2x zoom options in the rear camera setup support portrait mode. In the OnePlus 7T camera app, you can now use the ultra-wide-angle lens in nightscape mode as well. There is also a new macro mode that helps you take close-up shots even at 2.5-inch.

Now let’s move towards camera performance,

Out of the three camera sensors, the 48-megapixel sensor gives the best image output even if you are clicking the 12-megapixel image. It captures better details and a better dynamic range as compared to both other sensors. Apart from this, there is a slight difference in the color profile of the three sensors.

The primary sensor captures the dynamic range and color quite well. If there is enough light, details, and texture are better. The ultra-angle lens gives you a fairly wide image output, which means that it is perfect for good landscape shorts or group photos, but there is a slight distortion on the edges of the output.

OnePlus 7T Camera

OnePlus 7T’s primary sensor in low-light proves to be an ideal option. Nightscape mode now also works with ultra-wide lenses. NightScape clicks multiple long-exposure shots simultaneously after which you get a better shortcode according to the low-light condition.

Overall, apart from a few minor improvements, camera quality has not changed much.

OnePlus 7T Review: Battery

The company has also offered you some extras here. Compared to OnePlus 7, the 7T has a larger battery, which is also important for a 90Hz display. When used at a 90Hz refresh rate, we get 5 hours of screen-on-time quite easily. The Company has also provided fast charging support in it.

The New OnePlus 7T comes with a 30W fast charging tech and 5V / 6A charger box. OnePlus claims that its charging speed is optimized as compared to earlier, which gives 18% improv battery charging.

The charging speed of the phone is quite good. This device is capable of giving you about 1 day of backup on 15 to 20 minutes of charging. The device is fully charged in about 1 hour and 16 minutes. To see more, the device charges 0 to 40% in just 20 minutes, while in 48 minutes 90% is charged.

OnePlus 7T Review: Conclusion

OnePlus 7T looks to be the best OnePlus device for now. They are not speaking because of its price, rather we are saying this in view of its price and better design with an experience like pro models.

The experience of the device has been much better since the days we have used OnePlus 7T. Because of which it can be called almost the perfect option in this price segment. It has a competition with Asus ROG Phone 2 because in that too you get almost the same price. OnePlus 7T can be said to be a good and dumb device coming with Android 10 for now.

The merits

  • Great performance
  • Attractive display
  • Nice design
  • Fast charging
  • audio output

Shortcomings

  • Notch
