Vivo U10: Design and Build
Talking about the design, Vivo U10 has introduced along with other phones such as Design by Vivo. At the rear, you have also been given the Electric Blue and Thunder Black color options with a gradient design. The gradient effect seen on the back panel looks quite good. The unlock feature given in the phone i.e. fingerprint unlock and face unlock is both fast and accurate.
The front and water-drop notch look good in this price segment. On the right edge of the phone, you are given a volume button and a power button, which gives good tactical feedback. On the left side, you find a SIM tray with a dedicated card slot, while a 3.5mm audio jack, speaker grill, and micro-USB port are given at the bottom edge.
Due to the large battery, the size of the device becomes slightly larger, but you can use the phone with one hand, there will be no problem because all the buttons and sensors can be used easily.
Vivo U10 review: display
Talking about the U10’s display, you get a 6.35-inch full-view display with HD + resolution and 2.4D curved glass. The Vivo U10 achieves 89% screen-to-body ratio. Like other phones in this price segment, here you also get to see enough bezel. Also, there is a waterdrop notch above the display. The display comes with a very satisfactory color calibration which gives a good experience of viewing video content at 720p. In our Widewine L1 test, the device supports DRM L1 Certificat which means you can easily stream HD content on Netflix and Prime.
Vivo U10 Review: Camera Performance
The Vivo U10 has an AI triple camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor at the back with an LED flash. Apart from the primary sensor, the phone also has an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera app offers AI beauty, HDR, portrait bokeh mode and wide-angle mode option.
Switching the camera application mode seems a bit slow but the shutter speed is just right. At this price, there is not much hope for image quality, so there is not much to say about camera performance. From the camera samples given below, you can guess yourself how the camera performance of the device is?
Vivo U10 Review: Hardware & Software
In the U10, you have been given Snapdragon 665 chipset, which is also seen in the recently launched budget smartphones Mi A3 and Realme 5. It is an 11nm architecture based chipset in which you get octa-core with 2.0Ghz clock speed. We performed some tests and tasks on it at review time which were easily completed without any problems. You have been given many features in FunTouch but the interface and animation can still be given with much improvement. The new user may also have some difficulty in using gestures, but if you are happy with this user interface, then you will like the dark mode and ultra-game mode given in the phone.
Overall the experience of the device was quite good. We played PUBG and Asphalt 9 on it, which were played well considering the cost of the device. The phone has been introduced in the market with 3GB and 4GB RAM variants.
Vivo U10 Review: Verdict (Conclusion)
If we look at this device offered by Vivo with its specification, then it proves to be a good smartphone option in this price segment. Apart from the essential features like a large battery, dedicated card slot with fast charging support, the Snapdragon 665 chipset is given in the phone, making it a good performance device. FunTouch OS offers a lot of features but it still needs a lot of improvement. If you say downside, camera performance could not affect us much but at this price, you can not expect much from camera performance. Overall we will say that camera performance matters to you so you can get more options in the market, but if the camera performance average will work for you then it proves to be a good deal.
