Vodafone-Idea (Vi) may once again increase the prices of its plans. A top-level official said tariffs might be revised upwards this year, but it will depend on the tariff hike and market reaction in November last year.
Vodafone-Idea MD and CEO Ravinder Takkar says that the company has fixed the price of the cheapest plan giving service validity of about one month at Rs 99, which is not too expensive according to the users of the 4G service. Takkar further said that the plans could be made expensive once again this year.
Vodafone Idea (Vi) had increased the tariff of its prepaid plans by 20 to 25% in November last year itself. Airtel and Jio made their plans expensive the previous year.

Despite the tariff becoming expensive, the company’s ARPU, i.e. average revenue per user, has come down by 5% to Rs 115, which used to be Rs 121 in the same quarter of 2020-21.
The loss of the company is increasing.
The troubles of the loss-making Voda-Idea are not being named. Last week, the company said that the company’s total loss had increased to Rs 7,230.9 crore in the third quarter ended December 2021, from Rs 4,532.1 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
