Technology giant Google’s video streaming service YouTube has achieved a new record. YouTube has crossed the 10 billion downloads mark on the Google Play Store, breaking all its old records. According to the report of 9To5Google, this is a platform that most of us use. With its help, we do all kinds of work from cooking to reading.
YouTube 10 Billion Download on Play Store
The increase in YouTube downloads can be attributed to more and more people connecting to the Internet. Especially if we talk about India, Jio’s cheap internet has helped more and more users connect to the internet. Announcing this YouTube download figure, Google Play Store said YouTube was always expected to be the proper user-facing app to hit such a milestone.
However, the most important thing to note in this is that in today’s time, all Android smartphones come with YouTube Google Suite, which is already installed on the phone. But it is also important to note that there are three billion Android devices in the whole world, of which a large part is from China, where the Google Suite app is not installed in smartphones. That’s why it has become a big thing for YouTube to cross such a figure.
There is also a service for paid customers and creators.
As of October 2020, YouTube had around 3 million paid subscribers, but recently, streaming media player Roku has removed the YouTube TV app for new users. Apart from this, the company has recently launched a new tool named ‘Super Thanks’. This will give users a chance to tip their favourite creators on YouTube. This will benefit the creators a lot, and they can earn more money.
These apps are also included in the list of 10 billion
Facebook has the most downloads after YouTube. It has a total of 7 billion downloads so far. WhatsApp followed with more than 6 billion downloads, Facebook Messenger with more than 5 billion and photo-sharing app Instagram with more than 3 billion total downloads.
