Asma Shafique: A Pakistani student trapped in Ukraine has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The student was trapped in Kyiv due to the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. She was able to reach the safe place with the help of the Indian Embassy. The student has released the video and thanked the Indian Embassy and PM Modi for such a situation.
A Pakistani student named Asma Shafique released the video and said, I am from Pakistan. I thank the Embassy of India in Kyiv for helping us in this challenging situation. I also thank the PM of India. Thanks for helping us out. Because of the Indian embassy, we can reach our homes safely.
India running ‘Operation Ganga’
A fierce war is going on between Ukraine and Russia. In such a situation, citizens of all world countries, including Indian students, are trapped there. The central government runs Operation Ganga to rescue Indian students trapped in Ukraine. Under this, Indian students trapped in Ukraine’s Kyiv, Kharkiv and other cities are brought to India.
17100 Indian students expelled from
Ukraine About 20,000 Indians were trapped before the war started in Ukraine. According to the central government, 17,100 Indian citizens have been brought from Ukraine so far. On the other hand, 700 Indians trapped in Sumi were also brought out of the city on Tuesday through the Human Corridor. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these students have been brought to Poltava. From here, they will be brought to western Ukraine by train.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, flights are being prepared under Operation Ganga to take the students home. Sharing a video of Indian students on Twitter, Arindam Bagchi wrote in the caption, ‘Happy to share that we have successfully gotten all Indian students out of Sumi’.
