Yemen Man Arrested In Mecca, Saudi Arabia, After Performing Umrah For Queen Elizabeth II Soul

Saudi authorities have allegedly arrested a man from Yemen. The man had come to perform ‘Umrah’ in the holy city of Mecca in Islam for the ‘peace of the soul’ of the late Queen Elizabeth II of Britain. According to the news agency AFP, the Yemeni citizen shared his video on social media.

In it, he is seen holding a banner inside the Grand Mosque of Mecca that reads, ‘Umrah for Queen Elizabeth II, we ask God to accept her into heaven.’ The British Queen died last Thursday at the age of 96. He ruled the country for 70 years.

According to the report, carrying banners or raising slogans of any kind is prohibited in Saudi Arabia going to Mecca. Here performing Umrah on behalf of deceased Muslims is acceptable, but it does not apply to non-Muslims like Elizabeth.
